    About the Role

    The Community Caretaking service at Ipswich Borough Council plays a vital role in maintaining communal areas within council-owned properties. Their mission is to ensure cleaner and safer living spaces for residents.

    As a Community Caretaker, you’ll be part of a small, dedicated team based at Layard House. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Cleaning and patrolling communal areas.
    • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the council’s housing stock.
    • Engaging with the public and collaborating with various council departments.
    • Participating in community projects and events across the town.

    What We’re Looking For

    To excel in this role, you should:

    • Hold GCSEs, an NVQ Level 2 qualification, or have at least one year of relevant experience.
    • Have experience with cleaning practices.
    • Be a team player with excellent prioritization and time-management skills.
    • Possess a full UK driving license.
    • Be capable of manual tasks and lifting reasonable weights.
    • Be flexible to meet service needs, including occasional work outside normal hours.
